Wedding Date: May 10th, 2019

How did you meet and what was your proposal story?

“We met during a Bible study at church and our first date was a six-hour coffee date. (And I don’t even drink coffee.) Nine months later, we went for a hike one summer’s morning to “scout some elk.” At the top of the mountain, there is a beautiful view and a special spot with an old wooden cross. It was here that Joe proposed. I was so excited to call my family, but he suggested I wait until we were back in town and we had better cell reception. Once back to my home, I was met with the surprise of family and friends. It was such a memorable, joyful day.”

What was the inspiration for the look and feel of your wedding?

“Simple and elegant.”

What was the significance of your wedding location?

“After living in Wyoming for the last six years, I wanted to get married in Rochester close to my hometown so my family could be there. Thankfully, my groom was supportive of that!”

What was your favorite moment in your ceremony and reception?

Ceremony

“We both loved simply standing up front, listening to the hymn and sermon, and holding one another’s hands. (Sappy, but true.)”

Reception

“Joe isn’t typically big on dancing, but that night we both had a blast on the dance floor with each other and with our loved ones.”

Would you change anything if you could do it over again? If so, what?

“We had so much fun, I wish the day could have been 10 hours longer. Realistically, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.”

What advice do you have for other couples planning their weddings?

“Nobody is going to remember the linen colors at your wedding or what the invitations looked like. All the little details are fun to plan, but that is not the point of a wedding. Remember the day is about marrying the person you love.”

What did you do for your honeymoon?

“We immediately went back to Wyoming for my graduation, and the following week we went on a chilly cruise from Boston to Canada.”
